18month update

Our little girl turned 18months old last Friday! Here's the usual update:

Weight: 19lbs (up from 18lbs, 5oz), still not on the charts
Height: 32inches (up from 30inches), 61%'tile

As you all know, Mackenzie started "school" last week. She goes Tues and Thurs mornings from 830-1230pm. It's been a little rough, but supposedly she's making progress. Their morning consists of learning, playing, music, and outdoor time. But the teachers tell me she loves playing outside best...no surprise there! Here's hoping that she continues to improve and eventually loves going!

Other updates:
  • Still gets up around 630am and goes to bed around 8pm. The "big bed" is still going okay. Occasionally she will get out, but for the most part, she does really well.
  • Still eats cereal in daddy's lap before he heads to work. It's so cute.
  • Has recently become very fond of Barney and Elmo DVDs (mainly because sometimes mommy just needs a break)
  • It's been a struggle, but I think we are finally headed towards one nap. We eat lunch around 12pm (and on school days I pick her up at 1230pm) and she naps on and off from 1-3pm.
  • Currently she eats breakfast bars, muffins, still LOVES fruit, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, pizza, peas, corn, carrots, ice cream, and cookies.
  • Still loves to be a little helper (and I hope that continues when Colin arrives!)
  • Wears 18month shirts and 12month bottoms. Finally moved up to size 4 shoes. Still in size 2 diapers, but will probably move up to 3 soon!
  • She LOVES reading books. In fact, she wants to read books all the time and not just one...usually the whole bookshelf!
  • Lately she's been into puzzles, anything with shapes (she's able to find the correct shape an object goes in) and colors, trains, and imitating what people do on TV (dancing, jumping, singing, etc). She's also taken an interest in coloring and art projects. And lately she's started to tell us what a cow, chicken, horse, and sheep say!

Mackenzie sure is growing up. She's going through so many transitions right now and I'm so proud of her. I know there will be some challenges with Colin's arrival, but I hope our little girl will love being a big sister! Can't believe we'll be a family of four in just under two weeks!
